This is pointless. I'd rather have no subtitles at all. Please, don't upload this re-translated subs any more because despite the goog intentions, it's a waste of time.

I think these subtitle creators mean well, but I don't think they understand the basic flaw with what they're doing. Subtitles normally come from the original DVDs and are TRANSCRIPTS of what the actors, etc, are saying. Many times movie dialogue that is originally in the English language is translated to other languages (e.g., Indonesian, Chinese, etc). Many of these sub contributors are RE-translating them back into English – and here is the problem (stick with me here). You will never end up with the original translation even once, but especially after it has been translated twice. But lets think about this for a second: who is the intended audience for "Engrish" subtitles? Only persons English speaking people would benefit from them and they are going to know that the words spoken aren't matching the subtitle dialogue. To a point I agree with "b3avis", as well intentioned as the contributors are they are not really helping anyone creating a product that nobody would ever use.

It's actually worse to have bad subtitles than no subtitles at all – at least when there aren't any subtitles you aren't going to waste time downloading bad ones and sampling them.

My two cents. Peace.

Why do people bother creating and uploading absolute crap subtitles like this? To the person that wasted their time and mine creating this horrible trash give it up. These subtitles look and sound like they were created by a retarded chimpanzee with a learning disability. None of the words being spoken reflect the subtitles in any way at all. You don't know what you're doing.
